The User-created content means on-line content which are produced by Internet users by forum or bulletin board system as opposed to copyrighted contents. This term was originated by one of korean portal sites, Daum since 1999. In that time, there were few Online contents. Many korean web sites focused on gathering user activities. So there has developed various bulletin board system such as CrazyWWWBoard, ZeroBoard in Korea. Daum Cafe was success story of the largest online community service. From now on it has 600 million forums and 2.1 billion articles by 22 million users in Korea.

Mar.gar.in(pronounced as margarine) was launched in 26th November, 2006. As you can easily imagine by its hacked domain name, it has little something to do with the del.icio.us. The mar.gar.in claims that it starts as a Korean-version del.icio.us, aspiring to be koreanized del.icio.us and the ultimate social bookmarking for Korean at the end of the day.

News 2.0, a social news site

New2.0 is a newly launched Korean social news website with an emphasis on in-depth conversation functionality and mutual respected atmosphere. Its style and user-interface resembles Digg.com.
But, it only allows for people over 15 years old to register in it and summit a news and write a comment to keep the level of conversation between users. News2.0 does not want to cover provocative contents at all. As like other social news websites, news stories and web links are submitted by users, and then promoted to the front page through a user-based ranking system.

Open Web2Con

In Korea, some bloggers want to launch free unconference style meeting against expensive, invitation-only event such as web2summit. It's very similar with Web2.2 the point is people. So it was new style event organized by volunteers.
Open Web2con advocated speaking of web 2.0 by the user, of the user and for the user. Some companies sponsored this meeting, so it was held in a meeting room of Microsoft Korea on Nov 18th. 2006. It contained two agenda such as 1) media 2.0 2) web 2.0 monetization.

Web2Talk Seoul

There was the Web 2.0 Summit that connects the leaders and technologists opening
the Web's business opportunities. But, conference attendance was limited to maintain an intimate setting and foster dialogue among all participants. General attendee registration for the Web 2.0 Conference was by invitation only. So many people didn't go to web2summit.
Fortunately some of korean people attended conference and let us know atmosphere and stories of conference such as Web2.0Korea.org, Openmaru and Mtgear.net in korean. Daum WebInside is alternative choice for Korean in web traffic analysis service against Google Analytics. Daum WebInside is a free service offered by Daum that generates detailed statistics about the visitors to a website.
Its main highlight is that a webmaster can optimize their advertisement including overture in Korea and marketing campaigns through the use of its analysis of where the visitors came from, how long they stayed on the website, and their geographical position. Softbank Ventures invest Tattertools

Softbank Ventures invests $0.15M to Tatter and Company owned Tattertools. It's the most popular blogging tool in Korea. It was released by open source and made content delivery service called Eolin.com. Also Tistory.com was opened by closed beta service with Daum. It is free hosting service using Tattertools as like wordpress.com. It was good example of collaboration between large company and start-up.
