Cyworld reveals Web-based Widgets

The Cyworld, now the largest social network service by SK Communications unveiled a test version of its new Web service, called “C2.” The move comes as major domestic portals launch upgraded Internet services that cater to the new web environment. The portals Naver and Daum have also been adding new features to their blog services i.e. Naver Blog Season 2 and Daum's Tistory.com Cyworld is not adding features or revamping its design, but letting people create more Web sites through the same account. MyID.net, first OpenID provider

The MyID.net is first OpenID service in Korea. You can freely make OpenID without using abroad service. It's first prototype of Openmaru Studio that was invested by NCSoft, the Korean famous online game "Lineage" company. The Openmaru studio was started with famous developers from Ajax and Open Source community and product manager from Daum, Naver. They tried to build excellent start-up teams for agile development of Web 2.0 services. Mr. Kwangho Lee, technical manager in Openmaru made a OpenID community and introduction in Korean. After this service, some of famous bloggers support OpenID based comments system using WordPress and Tattertools.

Allblog invested by VC in Silicon Valley

Altos Ventures in Silicon Valley invested Blogcocktail Inc. that runs Allblog.net which provides search and community service for bloggers in Korea. The Altos got 10% stocks paying 0.5 million dollars. Pandora.TV, a leading video sharing service already was invested by Altos Ventures in 2005.

Olaworks Attracts 4 Million Dollars Investment

The Olaworks, a company with automatic face recognition technology, announced on January 11th, “Olaworks attracted USD 4 million in joint equity investment from three organizations such as SLIC, Intel Capital and WSGR.” SLIC and Intel Capital each invested USD 1.99 million and WSGR invested USD 20 thousand. Olaworks, founded in early 2006 by KAIST graduates, provides Olalog service which integrates automatic face recognition technology with web2.0 and mobile to automatically classify and share all sorts of digital photographs, video and text on mobile setting.
