BarCamp Seoul2

Posted by Channy Yun

After success of BarCamp Seoul in last year, many people requested BarCampSeoul2 again. Many people wanted to enjoy sharing of various subjects, so I cooperated with guys of Daum Foundation that is interested in NGO movement for IT culture and society.

They contacted and gathered various participators. So we had the chance to think more cultural theme as well as technical subjects.

In this camp, over 70 people were joined in Daum HQ on Saturday, June 1th. It covered Web 2.0 services and technology including OpenID and Open APIs, the business model for search and video service, UGC copyright and legal issue as like Creative Commons, internet movie festival, IT labor movement, WIPO- Access to Knowledge and digital archiving etc.

IT Certification plays an important role to get expert level IT related jobs. If you have got Cisco Certified Network Professional ccnp, CompTIA network plus, mcdba certification or have got cisco training, you are in the way to get a good and high salary job. Any security training related certification or microsoft training certification will help you boost up your career.

Most of them were male and married, so they wanted to be “really camp” together with their family in next camp. They enjoyed informal meeting with new people, delicious meals and sharing thoughts. I hope there are many barcamp style meeting in another areas in Korea.

I connected Raju bitter of Openlaszlo who engaged to BarCamp Berlin and knew Korea well. He introduced Chris Messina, the founder of BarCamp. I was very glad to email with him. He’ve been to South Korea once before and it’s thrilling to see BarCamp come back around for a second time. How about becoming more global in next BarCampSeoul with foreigners in Korea?

I just saw that you’ll have another Barcamp in Seoul in two weeks: BarCampSeoul3! That’s great, I wish that I could join you there.

Hope you are well, cheers!
