Firefox lovers in Korea

Posted by Channy Yun

As followings are my article on SpreadFirefox.com

Get Firefox Sticker Event over 1,000 people in one day.

I visited Mozilla Office in my US trip for Where 2.0 and EbayDevcon. Paul gave me a roll of new firefox sticker as a gift. A number of sticker is about 1,000 pieces. I thought that half of them had better be given to earnest people in community. So I wrote this event in bulletin board of http://forums.mozilla.or.kr.

When I waked in the morning of next day, I was very surprised to see requests. What happen? It’s over 1000 people. (It’s only about 2,000 people a number of registered member in forum.) But, many of bloggers announced this news in the evening and general firefox users requested stickers. (The 20% of korean power bloggers about 100,000 use Firefox.) So I quickly had to close this event page. I was very encouraged and felt a power of community. I decided to make two another stickers of korean community and send them with income of Google Adsense.

In this weekend, I enveloped 1,000 letter including 3 stickers with my wife and kids. These letters will be posted to korean firefox fans on Monday.
Sticker Enveloped

I expect many pictures from users with these as like my laptop attached Firefox stickers. I will make a gallery in korean community and upload some of them in gallery of spreadfirefox.com.

But sadly, Korea is IE-based. Even Korean gov’t prefers IE. IE8 beta 2 was government’s job to figure out how to change the way Korea has. SO STUPID!!
