iPhone 3G Price Comparison
The iPhone 3G is distributed in world-wide, but unfortunately the south Korea, one of famous mobile country is not included.
I just researched iPhone price plan in the world including, USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and France with similar price plan. Canadian’s is very expensive rather than other countries. Especially Australian Orange offers pre-paid iPhone 3G(8G) in about 900 USD because only monthly contraction is illegal in this country.

How realistic is it to expect Apple to sell the iPhone in Korea? It cannot work with any of the Korean websites.

Gen, You’re right. But, most of Korean spent a time in Naver and Daum that support safari browser.
Most of important thing is why iphone 3g couldn’t be launched in Korea. It’s another closed national standard – “WIPI” that must be installed in all mobile devices to personal retail. So many foreign device company. Apple reject this duty for providing iphone.

We Canadians are well aware we are getting screwed in the pricing, Rogers released some alternative plans, I’m not sure what numbers you’re using but it doesn’t surprise me. Rogers has a monopoly on iPhones in Canada.
People have been using them hacked or whatever on rival services for months, we’re a Blackberry shop at work so that will be my handheld of choice while at my current job.

as if any of the limitations or apple’s “refusal” to comply to korea’s ridiculous IT standards is in any was apple’s fault??? that safari doesn’t support korean websites is KOREA’S fault. why can’t korea have websites that work the same as websites in the rest of the world? why can’t korea use mobile technology that the rest of the world uses? because korea is very protective of its market and refuses to allow something that they know will hurt sales of shitty LG and samsung phones. that’s the REAL reason why south korea won’t sell the iphone. it’s not a matter of korea being “not included” it’s a matter of korea excluding itself because IT here is all proprietary.

Fuck the iphone, Samsung Omnia beats the shit out of it, just because you are too technologically illiterate to use something better, dont diss on Korea for its technology, there is 90%+ penetration rate of technology/internet/broadband….the U.S cant compare.

I’m using iPhone only because no other phone in America is as stylish and functional and cheap WITH a huge touch screen. Other companies are taking the cue and racing to catch up but iphone rules America. Korea has a ridiculously strong IT infrastructure and only way iphone will hurt other local Korean smart phones is going to be with the cheap price of iphone compared to some discustingly expensive prices set for mobile phones in Korea. To them, they don’t want to cut down the price of ALL of their phones ever made in Korea by about a third of original price just to compete with iphone’s price and functionality. Korea basically have been ripping people off with their mobile industry by charging too much for their phones. Most decent smart phones to compete with iPhone in Korea are sold at about 900 USD, when their internet service boasts some unbelievable download speed.

iPhone 3G is simply the best phone that i have owned. It is very stylish and its nice features. I also own an N97 but i like the iphone.

I personally think that the iPhone is a waste of money. The iPhone is basically just a iPod Touch with a camera and phone. I would rather just buy a ipod Touch. Get a free phone from Korea, and then get a digital camera. It will cost way cheaper than the iPhone. I have a question. How much is the iPhone bill? A LOT! So, in my opinion i think the iPhone is better in America where things like cell phones is expensive. Where like Korea, you can get free cell phones.

The processor is described as somewhat newer design number however it and also the GPU are likely the same speed as the 3GS. The old Touch with the same Processor and GPU as the 3G was quicker. Apart from getting the clock pace turned up higher the Touch has much less software programs to run because it is not a phone. It should do more than any iPhone to this day in performance.
