BarCamp Seoul2

After success of BarCamp Seoul in last year, many people requested BarCampSeoul2 again. Many people wanted to enjoy sharing of various subjects, so I cooperated with guys of Daum Foundation that is interested in NGO movement for IT culture and society. They contacted and gathered various participators. So we had the chance to think more cultural theme as well as technical subjects. In Korea, some bloggers want to launch free unconference style meeting against expensive, invitation-only event such as web2summit. It's very similar with Web2.2 the point is people. So it was new style event organized by volunteers. Open Web2con advocated speaking of web 2.0 by the user, of the user and for the user. Web2Talk Seoul

There was the Web 2.0 Summit that connects the leaders and technologists opening the Web's business opportunities. But, conference attendance was limited to maintain an intimate setting and foster dialogue among all participants. General attendee registration for the Web 2.0 Conference was by invitation only. So many people didn't go to web2summit. Fortunately some of korean people attended conference and let us know atmosphere and stories of conference such as Web2.0Korea.org, Openmaru and Mtgear.net in korean. BarCamp Seoul, the Fountain of Passion

The BarCamp Seoul was held at a meeting room of Daum Communications Corp. in Seoul, Korea on Dec. 21th. 2006. Over 40 guys came to this meeting. It was very cool and passionate. Also all of people gave a speech for various subject from web 2.0 to developer's life. This meeting was divided into 4 session and proceeded 30 minutes speech. BarCamp Seoul

It's another unconference. BarCamp Seoul(in korean) will be held in Daum Communications on October 21st, in Seou, Korea. I started up an idea to launch Barcamp Seoul and some bloggers helped me. I'm very glad to make a change to meet passionate people in there. BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. Barcampe is world-wide unconference style.

Alternative Languages Festival 2006

The Alternative Languages Festival 2006 was held in Sep. 1th~3th in Vivaldy Park during 3 days. About 200 people were joined this conference. It's the first korean style unconference to share informations about minor programming lanuages by korean software engineers. It included Ruby, Haskell, Mathematica, Lisp, Small Talk, Object C, J language, Io language, F#, Curl, Lua as well Java, Python, C#. Tutorial There were simple tutorials for each languages.
