Wingbus
The Wingbus aggregates tour stories and photos of bloggers from Naver, Daum, Empas and Tattertools. In beta service, some of famous cities were public such as London, Paris, Tokyo and Rome. The Europe area is famous tour places for korean. So they have many pictures to be taken and visiting stories for restaurant, tour spots and sightseeing places.

It’s different with RealTravel that introduces the best place for real people to share travel advice and experiences. The RealTravel has own blog services, but wingbus only linked to other blogs. Wingbus crawls all of blogs and filters tour stories and photos from bloggers. And they are classified by cities and plotted in maps. It can be possible by keyword matching of famous tour places such as “the Triumphal Arch in Paris” and “Disneyland in Orlando”.

Also it offers interactive city maps for various famous spots and photos. So users can choose spots with many stories and make a tour schedule by blogger’s recommendations.

hi
how has the purchase of Wingbus by Naver changed the model? :
- how did they source the content now (more naver specific?)
- how will their business model change ? are they become a Naver Travel sort of portal ?
thanks

@david, Thanks for update.
As you know, Wingbus was acquired by NHN on Jan. 2009. I guess Naver wanted to get contents for local based service. Most of cases used keyword search method not geotagging. Wingbus is one of first geotagging database in Korea. It’s helpful to improve search quality for Naver.com
