Blog Services in Korea

Mr. Hyun summarized korean blog services. As followings are quotation from that.
I told you! I’m not much of a graphics guy, and I’ve got tired of polishing CSS and stuffs in 5 minutes (As I said, one of the reasons I like textpattern, is that you don’t actually have to do anything to make your site decent. The default is pretty good).
So, here I will organized what kinds of blog services are there in Korea (based on this blog posting. Nice job, really!)
So, we have, in Korea, blogs hosted by portals:
- Empas He says it’s the best.
- Yahoo! Korea (Unlike in the US), one of the earliest birds
- Paran Run by KT—one of the telephone giants—… But,…
- Naver Many bloggers don’t like it, because of funny policies (see here I don’t know whether a portal/search engine should have such a discretionary power…)
- Daum Poor, he says…
- Google You know it…
- Apparently, the author missed Nate, which is a sort of portal trying to link with cellular services
Specialized blog services include:
- Egloos Premium service, blog publication…
- Mediamob It has some big name bloggers, he says.
- Onblog Good, but there is a room for improvement, according to the writer…
- Blogin
Funny, that many offline newspapers have blogs. It’s unique that they let any user/reader to register and create their own blogs, just like portals and other blog services. I personally think that they have trouble maintaining subscription level, and it’s one of their tools to keep their offline readers. Anyway, there are:
And, there’s a service provided by a specialized newspaper, ET News, by an online grassroot newspaper, Oh My News, and one by a Christian portal.
There are rss aggregators in Korea, too, including:
- Allblog
- Blog Korea No operation
- Tattertools One of the install-based blog tool provider also offers the rss aggregation for users of the code
- Blogmeme ditto
- Dreamwiz
- Progressive Blogs Ideologically leftists
- Metro Blog Residents of metropolitan areas, commuting on metro
He also lists the so-called “power bloggers.” On that, later… (If you’re in a haste to see Korean bloggers in action, try Likejazz blogroll. It includes some non-Koreans—mostly big guys—but it gives you a decent overview of how Korean bloogers are.
